App design: “kisa”

Co-designed with classmate Molly Fong.

For this project, we were instructed to design a mobile application prototype in Figma for a social issue impacting our community. Dating and finding/maintaining relationships are a significant cause of stress for college students. In our development phase, we took notice of the dissatisfaction many of our peers felt with the current slew of dating apps available.

From these observations, KISA’ (Knight in Shining Armor) was born—a dating app made by and for Rutgers University students. We designed it with motifs and elements specifically meant to appeal to the RU community like the interactive map highlighting significant campus landmarks and several homages to our mascot, Sir Henry the Scarlet Knight.
